Twinfield Food Service

We are a small school with a big appetite for healthy eating.

We are committed to providing the highest quality meals for your child. We work to create an environment where your child can learn to make healthy decisions that leads to a healthy life style.

MEALS ARE BALANCED

Students choose there meals from a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, whole grain bread and cereals, lean meats and low fat dairy products. We have a salad bar that is available to all students which gives students a chance to eat a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables.

FRESH FRUIT AND VEGETABLE PROGRAM

The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) is a federal grant program that provides a fresh fruit or vegetable snack to all students in qualifying K-8 schools. It's a great way to get students excited about eating healthy and trying new fruits and vegetables.

Twice a week we provide all elementary students with a fresh fruit or vegetable snack. This gives students a chance to have a snack that is healthy and unprocessed.

CHILD AND ADULT CARE PROGRAM (CACFP)

When school is out and parents are still at work , children need a safe place to be with their friends, with structured activities, supportive adults, and good nutrition.

We have proudly partnered up with our TLC after school program. We provide a free nutritious meal to all students that are enrolled in the After School Program.

SMART SNACKS

All food and beverages sold to students at school during school hours meet the Smart Snacks Standards. To get more information on Smart Snacks go to www.fsn.usda.gov/tn/guide-smart-snacks-schools

However, we do ask families to complete a household income form so that the school can receive the right amount of funding for the program. We can send the form home with your child, or the form is available in the main office.

PARENTS ARE WELCOME!

We invite parents and families to come see how school lunch has changed.Parents are always welcome! We are proud of our program and of our hard working staff and we encourage you to eat with your child. The cost is $5.00 for a full meal or just $3.00 for the salad bar.
