Propaganda
What is it, how and why it is used, and its implications during
the Holocaust.

What is propaganda?
Propaganda is information that is spread for the purpose of promoting some cause.

These modern examples of propaganda from the The Propaganda Remix Project are obviously biased against the U.S. government and President Bush. They were created by an American, former Army serviceman Micah Wright, as a form of protest.

Propaganda is used by individuals, organizations, and governments to try to influence people. The examples on the left are very obvious in their intent, but often propaganda is much more subtle. The key to understanding propaganda is to be able to determine the bias and how the propagandist is trying to manipulate you.

Propaganda Techniques are often used by advertisers who are trying to sell you something.
