The American Dream
Throughout the trimester we have discussed the Puritans need for freedom. In the novel Of Mice and Men Lennie and George have a dream of a future where they own their own land and they are their own bosses. America is a nation that has been built on dreams. It is built on dreams of religious freedom, independence, and economic wealth. As immigrants left their country for Ellis Island, they were searching for these dreams. In an essay discuss the concept of “The American Dream.” What is the Dream? Is it the same for all Americans? Is it a myth? How has it changed over time? Why do some people see their dreams wither and die while others see their dreams fulfilled? Everyone has dreams about a personally fulfilled life…what is your dream?
