1. The group will be asking a variety of people
questions about heroism and video taping people's responses.
2. The groups should develop a list of 4-5 questions.
Some possible questions could be:
- What is a hero?
- Do you have hero?
- Do you think the term "hero" is used too much today
and has lost meaning?
3. The group should try to ask about five people the questions.
Try to ask young children, teenagers, and adults. Please explain
the project before taping. Ask permission to tape responses. Please
do not bombard people with the camera. Please make appointments
with faculty members. Plan ahead for the best results.
4. Before you begin interviews, please read the resource card
about the interviewing process.
5. Prepare a presentation to the class. In your groups analyze
the video tape. What comment can your group make about the responses
that were given. Show clips of the video as needed.
6.Independently, write a two page essay that discusses the research
that you gathered. Discuss the responses made by people of various
ages. Discuss how you might respond if asked the same questions.
