We have 10 students in the midst of World Language testing in Japanese, French, and Spanish. These students are hoping to reach the level of Intermediate-Mid in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. This is a level that indicates the ability to use the language in many different settings in a way that native speakers will understand without having to guess (think a 7-year-old versus a 3-year-old in terms of language skill). If they reach this level in all 4 areas, they will earn the Vermont Seal of Biliteracy when they graduate and be able to take the results of the test to their universities for placement in most cases.
