Welcome Back to Twinfield!

Dear Twinfield Families,

Welcome to the start of a wonderful new school year! To our returning families, welcome back—thank you for making our school community so vibrant and special. To our new families, welcome to Twinfield; we are excited you are joining us!

We are looking forward to welcoming students back on August 26. Our team is currently hard at work preparing the building and finalizing plans for our opening weeks. Look out for communications from your child’s classroom teachers and TAs soon with classroom-specific information.

Below are key pieces of information to help you and your family get ready to head back to school, including a shift in time for the student day: student learning begins at 8:15 and will end at 3:00. We will continue to dismiss at 2:00 on Fridays.

As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns.

We will see you soon!

Back to School Forms

It's time to complete your Annual Back-to-School Student Information Forms for the 2026–2027 school year.

All returning student families should log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal and complete the required Back-to-School Forms through Ecollect Forms.

Completing these forms helps ensure we have accurate contact information, emergency contacts, medical information, transportation details, and required permissions before the start of school.

Please complete your forms as soon as possible. The deadline is August 21st.

Updated Bus Routes

Click the button above to see this year's bus routes.

Twinfield provides transportation for students PK-12 to and from school. In order to keep everyone safe, it is very important that all students meet the expected behaviors. Failure to do so will result in lost privileges up to and including suspension from riding the bus. Inappropriate or unsafe bus behavior may result in consequences during the school day as well.

Expected Behaviors
  • Follow directions immediately
  • Stay seated; no moving seats or moving while the bus is in motion
  • Keep your body to yourself
  • Keep your belongings in your space
  • Keep the bus free of food and drink
  • Share the seat
  • Help others
  • Use soft voices
  • Use appropriate and respectful language; no yelling or using profanity
  • No taking picture or videos without permission
  • Take care of the bus; clean up any mess you make
  • Keep aisles clear; no feet, bodies, or bags in the aisle
  • Keep voices off at railroad crossings

Student Drop off and Pick Up Process

We have updated our drop-off and pick-up process to ensure student safety and ease for families. Please read through the information below and reach out if you have any questions.

Student drop-off and pick-up take place at the rear of the building, where staff will be available to greet students and provide assistance as needed. To keep traffic flowing smoothly, please remain in your vehicle while using the loop. If you need to exit your car and enter the building, park in the designated back parking lot (reserved for drop-off families), use crosswalks to walk to the building, and use the buzzer system for entry.

Please note:  Parking in the loop is not permitted.

Assigned Number System
  • Every family receives an assigned pick-up number. Families with multiple students will all have the same number.
  • Two car tags with your number are provided and will be sent home on the first day of school with students in the youngest grade.
  • Display the tag on your dashboard or hang from your mirror
  • Need additional tags? Contact Ella King in the front office

No Tag or Unexpected Pick-Up Changes
If pick-up plans change:
  • Notify the front office immediately with the name of the authorized person picking up your child(ren)
When a car without a number arrives:
  • Staff will greet the driver and ask who they are picking up
  • Staff will confirm permission with the front office
  • Staff will request photo identification to verify the person's identity

Step-by-Step Pick-Up Process
1. Enter the Loop- Pull around the loop in the back parking lot. If you're first in line, pull all the way to the end of the building. Staff will direct you.
2. Number Identification- A staff member will read your displayed number and radio teachers, who will send your student(s) to your car.
3. Stay in Your Vehicle-Remain in your car except to help children buckle in safely. This keeps the line moving efficiently.
4. Exit Safely-Once all children are secured, re-enter the traffic line to exit the school parking lot.

Student Cell Phones

  • Personal devices that connect wirelessly to the internet (cell phones, smart watches, wireless earbuds etc.), if brought into the school, must be left in the appropriate school-provided storage space for the entire school day (8:15 AM - 3:00 PM).
  • If a student fails to put their device(s) away appropriately, the device will be confiscated and brought to the office for pick-up at the end of the day. If this happens a second time, the device(s) will need to be picked up by a parent or guardian at the end of the day, or sent home with the student with administrator permission.
  • If an emergency situation should arise or communication between home and school is necessary, please call the office and your message will be delivered to your child.
  • (HS Only) Students who leave campus for classes at tech centers will retrieve their device(s) from the front office before leaving and then follow the cell phone / personal device policy and procedures at that location. Additionally, seniors who leave campus as part of their senior privileges may retrieve their device(s) to have while off campus but will need to return it to the front office upon entry back into the building.

Exceptions may be made for students to use a personal electronic device if a licensed physician or licensed advanced practice registered nurse determines that it is necessary to monitor a medical condition (i.e. diabetes, epilepsy). Documentation from the medical provider will be necessary and the exception must be outlined in an IEP or 504 plan. The student will be allowed to keep the device in a manila envelope within their backpack if deemed necessary. The exception is specific to the need only and still prohibits cell phone and headphone/earbud use for any other purposes.

TLC: After School Program

Information from director Michelle Delaney

The first day of TLC will be August 31. Click here to register.

TLC runs Monday-Thursday from 3:00 pm -5:00 pm and on Fridays from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. It does not occur on half days or vacation days. Students can attend 1-5 days a week. We will be offering snacks and water bottles for K-6th students. Please send students with indoor shoes once they begin wearing boots outside. Programming will happen in Classroom 128 which is linked to classroom 129, where we were 2 years ago, so the doors that open to the sidewalk beside the cafeteria doors can be used for pick ups.

We are organizing TLC around the club model, so four days a week a community or school staff member will be offering a different learning experience. This fall, Monday will be our free choice day where students can choose outdoor time if the weather is cooperative or to dig into some of the cool things that we always have available in our classroom. I am still setting up the clubs for both K-6 and MS/HS, and will get that information out as soon as things are set. Clubs will not begin until September 15 so that we have time to work on behavior expectations(which match the school behavior expectations) and procedures for TLC. I believe that our fall clubs will be: Pottery - Tuesdays, Art on Wednesdays , Nature Explorations on Thursdays, and White Mountain Science will be on Fridays, but there still may be some shifting of days.

For MS/HS, we will have Magic the Gathering with Seth O'Brien again this year on Fridays from 2 :15 to 3:45 pm and I am working on other club options for the MS/HS age group. Please feel free to contact me with ideas for clubs! Generally, club time for MS/HS is 3:15-4:15 pm, unless otherwise stated, and students should be picked up at 4:15 pm. Students in grades 5 and 6 are welcome to join the clubs for K-6 or the clubs for MS/HS depending on what is the best fit for them.

TLC remains free of charge. The best way to reach me is through email, but the cell phone number above is my personal cell and it is fine for you to contact me that way since the program does not have a cell phone. We do have a landline in room 128, ext 254.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Parent Square Communication

For the upcoming school year, CCSU is continuing to use Parent Square for communication out to families. This system will be used by classroom teachers to provide classroom updates and by the school to send out mass phone calls and emails to families. If you need help signing up for Parent Square, please call Ella King in the main office.

This year is going to be amazing!

We look forward to working you and your family.
